In honour of Lewis Carroll's birthday a few days ago, here are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, published by Random House in 1946. They have the John Tenniel illustrations which were coloured by Fritz Kredel for this edition. Tenniel illustrated the first edition of Alice in 1865. Well, you know I love them! These are interesting because Kredel colored Alice's dress blue. In The Nursery Alice, Tenniel colored her dress yellow. I wonder if Disney had this edition when they made their film version of Alice.
